Noel Washington had been charged with refusing to an attend an ABCC interrogation about what happened at a union meeting and was due to face court in Melbourne on 2 December 2008.

A week before he was due to stand trial the Director of Public Prosecutions suddenly called for the charges to be dropped.

With the support in Australia and from around the world for rights on site, cracks are beginning to show, but the bad laws still exist and they need to be abolished immediately.
